Fans had to wait 36 years for a sequel to the cult classic “Beetlejuice” from 1988. Now it is finally here: 12. September 2024 The sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” celebrates its long-awaited cinema premiere in Germany. Even 36 years later, Michael Keaton is once again playing the titular poltergeist. In addition to newcomer Jenna Ortega, familiar faces such as Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara are also back.
The sequel is likely to be one of the cinema highlights of 2024, especially for fans of the first hour. Many fans are probably already looking forward to the home cinema premiere. But when will “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” be available to stream?
When and where will “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” be streamed?
Since the film is only just about to be released in cinemas, you will have to wait a while before you can stream the film at home. It is currently not possible to say exactly when this will happen. Successful cinema titles usually take longer to start streaming.
There are usually several months between the cinema release and the streaming release. However, this initially only applies to the video-on-demand release. It can take up to one or even two years until the films end up on the streaming services.
At least we are currently assuming that the film will initially be streamed exclusively in Germany on the TV and streaming service Sky or Wow. The reason: The production studio Warner Bros., which is behind “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, has signed licensing agreements with Sky. These stipulate that the stream releases will initially be made on Sky.
How to watch “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” earlier in the stream
As a rule, US cinema films are first released as a stream in the USA before they are then available in Germany. Experience has shown that Warner Bros. will make “Beetlejuice” available in the USA on its own streaming service Max (formerly HBO Max).
If you don’t want to wait for the German streaming launch, there is a solution. Max’s content is not available in this country due to a country block, but you can get around this with the help of a VPN service and thus access Max’s US catalog. You will also have to wait a while until the DVD and Blu-ray versions are released. The disc release usually follows shortly after the video-on-demand version is released. So don’t expect it until further notice. End of 2024 or beginning of 2025.
