Are you a Final Fantasy VII fan? Have you played Final Fantasy VII Remake but are still eager to relive the ups and downs of Square Enix’s beloved RPG? I have good news for you! An independent developer has recreated much of the remake in LittleBigPlanet2.
This project was entirely the work of Jamie Colliver and has been a passion project for many years. Originally released ten years ago, this fan remake has been completely revamped with the addition of the Wutai portion of the game, new models, new animations, and more. This should have been the final version of LittleBigPlanet Remastered, and after another 3.5 years, it’s now ready for you to try.

The creation of the entire project has been uploaded to Colliver’s YouTube channel so you can see it for yourself. There’s even a fantastic 15-minute trailer that brings together many of the biggest moments in one place. Special thanks to the remastered FF7 OST, all of which was done in the Little Big Planet level creator.
The creators are so pleased with the project that they’ve created a petition to have it included in some way as the official third installment in the FF7 Remake trilogy. While it might be a little ambitious, 81 people have already taken the time to sign it. I wonder how many signatures Square Enix needs to see it through? I guess there’s only one way to know for sure.
To me, this speaks to the creative capabilities of not only the LittleBigPlanet engine, but also the community that’s still working on the game. We may not be in the golden age of LittleBigPlanet anymore, especially with developer Media Molecule having suffered layoffs in recent months, but the desire to create in its games is still there.
So, we salute creators like Colliver who are willing to put in the effort and make something cool. If you have LittleBigPlanet2, check out his FF7 remake!
