The mobile game Clash of Clans, which has been downloaded billions of times, is getting its first real-world character. The Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland has been storming Clash of Clans as the Barbarian King since May 1st with his own event and cinematic trailer.
Haaland is not only known for his football skills, but also enjoys gaming in his free time. Clash of Clans in particular seems to be one of his passions. At least he recently came out as a big fan of the game. During the current event, players also have the opportunity to “visit” and loot Haaland’s impressive village.
Erling Haaland said of his appearance: “It was difficult to keep this thing secret, but I’m happy to finally be able to talk about this great partnership with Clash of Clans. I’ve been a big fan of the game for a long time and know pretty much everything about it, so it’s really cool to be involved as a character.”
The makers of Clash of Clans are also excited about working with the Manchester City player. General Manager Stuart McGaw explains: “When we heard that Erling Haaland was a fan of our game and wanted to partner with us, it really was a dream scenario. Our team has done everything we can to bring one of the world’s best athletes into the game so that our players can experience a very special moment.”
