it sounds like counter strike 2 Might be on the way, surprise release could be just this month.
This comes from Richard Lewis, a reporter who has accurately covered many Counter-Strike stories over the years (thanks VGC). Lewis claims that, based on what many sources have told him, a new version of Counter-Strike is “very real” and “just around the corner.” According to Lewis, a new version of the Valve shooter has been in development for some time, and is likely to be released under the title Counter-Strike 2 as a working title.
“The tentative release date for the beta is March, April 1st is out,” Lewis wrote. The source also explained that the game’s development has been a priority for Valve, which may explain why CS:GO It hasn’t received much attention for a while. A source told Lewis, “The immediate priority is to fix that and then polish it, fix all the bugs and bring it up to the level that people expect from CS.”
As far as details you can expect, it’s developed in the Source 2 engine, which should improve graphics, though those with lower-end PCs may have a trade-off as a result. Pairing is said to be so improved that third-party services are not required.
This report follows a Twitter post by CS:GO and Valve News poster GabeFollower, who recently found support for applications called csgos2.exe and cs2.exe in the latest Nvidia drivers executable, leading many to believe the fact that this is the unannounced CS:GO sequel. Lewis’ report supports these claims, but obviously until we receive an official statement from Valve, we’ll just have to wait and see what the truth is.
Something weird just happened. The latest NVIDIA drivers introduce support for unknown application executables named “csgos 2.exe” and “cs2.exe”. Why is the project called Counter-Strike 2 and what are you doing? @csgo
