Despite the common problem that all the inhabitants of the planet are having due to the coronavirus outbreak, CD Projekt Red will not change the official release date of its long-awaited next title, Cyberpunk 2077. It is good news for all fans who wish looking forward to having this game in their hands, however this could involve consequences that will otherwise affect the gameplay of the same, since like other companies, all its employees keep working from home to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
According to a recent news shared by VideoGameChronicleCyberpunk 2077 could have issues with the game's localization process, as CD Projekt Red Vice President Michal Nowakowski has confirmed that quarantine has slowed development regarding the voice recording of some actors, so it is quite possible that the game will reach the platforms with an additional download that will take care of adding the missing recordings.
"There are some difficulties with the localization process, specifically with the recording of some of the actors," Nowakowski said. However, we have managed to record the vast majority of voiceovers, but there are always some last pickup sessions, and we are not very concerned about that because it is something that we can record even later and add in the form of a digital patch, for which at the time customers actually buy the game in September, they would simply download a file that would add the missing pieces of recordings, but that process has been somewhat hampered. It is literally the only thing on our radar, everything else we have already overcome that obstacle, so we are not really affected by it, or things are progressing smoothly or business as usual, I would say. "
Similarly, Nowajowski says this is not a serious thing, since they almost have everything ready, in fact, most of the voices are already complete, there would only be a few that can easily be recorded during these remaining months before the video game is released on September 17 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. However, the developers will be sharing all the information about the process through the CD Projekt Red official website
