The GDC Awards of the Year will be held in March, and the nomination for the Game of the Year is Death Stranded, Control, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Untitled Goose Game and Outer Wilds.
Each of these games has been nominated for multiple Game Developer Choice Awards.
The death stranded was led by seven nominations, followed by Control and Outback Wilderness, each nominated five.
Other awards that have made it to the finals in multiple categories include four nominations for Disco Elysium And untitled goose game. Sayonara Wild Heart with smallekiro: Shadows die twice Both have been nominated for three awards.
Any video game released and publicly available in calendar year 2019 is eligible for the 2020 Game Developers Choice Awards.

Last year, Amy Hennig was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Rieko Kodama was awarded the Pioneer Award. God of War won the industry's third annual Best Game Award in the same year.
