Elon Musk, billionaire and new owner of Twitter, absolutely dislikes being criticized in public, and employees learned it the hard way.
Nothing has gone right, or nearly, since Elon Musk took ownership of Twitter for a trifle $44 billion. The employees paid the bill again.
New Twitter employee fired
Elon Musk found a way to chop off even more heads within Twitter. The reason ? On November 13, Musk apologized that the social network was slow in many countries and blamed engineers for the malfunction.
One of them, Eric Frohnhöfer, then defended himself by stating:
I think there are three reasons why the app is slow. First, it’s cluttered with underused features. Second, we’ve accumulated years of technical debt by prioritizing speed and functionality over performance. After all, we spend a lot of time waiting for answers from the network.
The Android developer then felt that significant rewrites of Twitter’s code would be required, in addition to a massive reduction in the number of features, particularly those introduced by Elon Musk, which are already causing disastrous changes. Unfortunately, the leader of the blue bird who fired Eric Frohnhöfer didn’t like it… with a simple tweet.
The same goes for engineer Sasha Solomon, who said laying off half the staff may not have helped solve the speed issues. She was also released immediately. A little annoyed, she then posted this message: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, fuck you Elon”.
