Aldi will soon be offering a stylish city e-bike in its online shop. It is very simple and looks like a normal bike without a motor.

From August 11th, Aldi will be offering a range of affordable e-bikes in its online shop. One highlight is the Urbanicer 2.0 from Prophete, which doesn’t look anything like a pedelec.
In the simple 28-inch e-bike, the battery disappears into the down tube of the frame. Since the capacity is 360 watt hours (large e-bikes have up to 750 watt hours), the battery doesn’t take up much space, so the down tube doesn’t have to be noticeably large. According to the manufacturer, the range is still a solid 110 kilometers.
The rear wheel motor is also unobtrusive and does not stand out visually. It offers a support force of 40 Newton meters. This is strong enough even for steeper passages.
Hydraulic disc brakes, Shimano gears
Other features include a lighting system, a 9-speed Shimano derailleur, hydraulic disc brakes, mudguards and a pannier rack. There is also a push assist up to 6 km/h on board. The total weight is 23.4 kilograms, the permissible total weight is around 140 kilograms.
For the price of 1,499 dollars, you get a well-equipped e-bike that is particularly suitable for short distances. Because of the rigid fork, it is primarily designed for the road, but short excursions onto field and forest paths are also no problem. The model is available as a women’s and men’s version.
