EA Sports FC 25’s third gameplay update is now available on PS4 and Xbox One, with other platforms coming “soon.” What do you get? Well, a lot, including some noteworthy balance tweaks and nerfs.
This update comes on the heels of a relatively brief second game update and last week’s first real-time tweaks update, which was designed to eliminate “situations where players inadvertently speed up too quickly,” which is a bit sad because if anyone doesn’t Use it, which sounds funny, to zoom in on the goal from the center circle to the right.

“Game Update 3 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of EA Sports FC 25, and will soon be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch versions of EA Sports FC 25,” EA wrote. In the comments of the latest update.
If you want to read the full list of changes and fixes for all the different modes, you can go to the notes linked above, as they’re about 1500 words long, but here are just the big tweaks that affect general gameplay (there’s a separate series for this too bug fixes). Particularly highlighted are nerfs to Trivela’s shot and five defensive formations, which have been a particular headache for the community in terms of exploitation:
- The following changes were made:
- The accuracy of the first lob through ball has been reduced, including at extreme angles.
- This change is most noticeable for players with high passing attributes.
- The potential accuracy of Trivelas is greatly reduced.
- Significantly increases the defensive width of the 5-back formation.
- Reduces the potential accuracy of the pass.
- Increased frequency of attacking runs for AI players in the following roles: Shadow Forward, Inside Forward Attack, Inside Forward Roam, Wide Playmaker and Full Back (when there is space ahead).
- Improved AI player decision-making when considering running diagonally into open space and when considering running into nearby open space.
- Improves the accuracy of player shots when there is no pressure and a generally clear view of the goal, including one-on-one situations and empty-net situations.
- Improved decision-making by AI centre-backs when trying to provide safe passing options.
- Improved AI player recognition of offside situations.
- The CPU AI will further prioritize passing over dribbling when running an offense.
- Reduced the speed of some slide processing animations.
- Slightly improved gap accuracy.
- Reduced speed of ground and through balls in wet weather.
So, that’s it. As I said, the rest can be found via links to the full notes.
