As is well known, Electronic Arts has published a current annual report and has also taken a look into the future. In addition to the annual sports series, this year there are also a number of other top titles from the publisher.
On the occasion of the announcement of the figures for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2020, the publisher also made concrete plans for investors for the new fiscal year, which starts on April 1, 2020 and then runs until March 31, 2021. In this, far more than just sports games like FIFA or Madden NFL should play a major role.
Rather, EA wants to launch a total of eight games from the internal development studios in this time window. Four of them are the annual sports game editions of FIFA, Madden NFL, NHL and probably this time also NBA Live. Finally, the NBA Live 20, which was actually planned for 2019, was discontinued and the basketball series dared the next restart.
In short: There will also be a total of four own top titles that have little to do with sport. This will include the latest shooter Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, but the other three new releases have not yet been announced. So there is room for speculation, but Battlefield is out. There should be no new part of this franchise before fiscal year 2022, which only starts on April 1, 2021.
In addition to its own games, EA will also launch four games from independent developer studios – presumably within the EA Originals label. There was also talk of a soft launch of two mobile titles.
