Escape from Tarkova first-person shooter that emphasizes realistic gameplay, is getting a Escape from Tarkov Arena.
Warring States GamesThe developer of the title, announced the new title on its Twitter account, complete with a brief trailer. The new title looks more like the base game, just with the competitive flair of other shooters.
“Escape from Tarkov Arena is a standalone game project – a session-based multiplayer first-person shooter with all the hardcore gameplay mechanics of EFT you know and love,” Battlestate Games wrote on Twitter.
The post explaining the game goes on to say that you will participate in “colosseum battles in various arenas in the city of Tarkov,” apparently arranged by a group of arena masters led by the host, at least from one-game lore perspective.
There are settings for both PvP and PvE game modes, although Battlestate didn’t explain how either mode will play out. There also appears to be some sort of rating system, as well as weapon and gear unlocks. Battlestate also notes that players who own the main game will have unique features, such as being able to play as your main character.
Those with the Edge of Darkness pack will be able to get Arena for free as DLC, but beyond that, you’ll have to pay for the spin-off. And it’s not tied to the main game, so if you’re not interested in MMO hardcore shooters, you don’t need to already own it.
A closed beta is currently planned for this fall, which may only be aimed at more experienced players. No release date has been set so far, but we’ll probably expect more news after testing.
