For several years, Disney has gone back to the classics as much as possible and offered live adaptations. And here is already spoken.
We know Disney is a well-oiled machine, and for a number of years Uncle Mickey’s multinational has been offering us live-action adaptations of its animated classics. We remember special Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella or recently Peter Pan and Wendy (Come). The general opinion is that the whole thing is like snappy with very good things Cruella and at least as good The Lion King
Lilo and Stitch are already talking
A week ago we were able to learn details about the live adaptation of Moiana with the very contracted and venous Dwayne Johnson. This time it’s about Lilo and Stitch as we can learn through the very serious media The Hollywood Reporter. So we can learn that Nani, Lilo’s big sister, will be played by actress Sydney Elizabeth Agudong, an 18-year-old Hawaiian actress.. And fans are already beginning to revolt, realiz ing that the actress does not look in vain. And that it was too white for her liking for the role. Some don’t hesitate to point out that Disney chose an African American actress (Yara Shahidi) to play Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, but chose a white actress to portray a very typical character in Lilo and Stitch. We don’t know the rest of the cast just yet, but this choice is certainly not done yet.
Lilo and Stitch, a beloved Disney classic
2002’s Lilo and Stitch quickly became one of the most popular movies among children and fans alike, thanks in particular to its story and great sweetness. The film follows the adventures of Lilo, a six-year-old Hawaiian orphan who adopts an animal named Stitch from a shelter and turns out to be an alien fugitive. The film will be directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp, about whom we know very little other than that he is the director of the very recent film Marcel the Shell (with his shoes). For the rest of the cast, we can count on the presence of Zach Galifianakis, the cult actor of the saga Very bad trip. As the protagonist Lilo, it will be the very young Maia Kealoha, who will also get the opportunity to play her very first role in cinema. At the moment there is no release date for this new live Disney movie.
