When we say GTA at the moment, one inevitably thinks of the 6 that were entitled to a stunning trailer in December 2023. It’s clearly one of the most anticipated releases for the next few years, but it will remain so with a little patience. Yes, you shouldn’t expect it before 2025, so don’t be too impatient. In the meantime, you can focus on other games in the series and in this regard we have very good news to announce.
A new update for the GTA trilogy?
Our star of the day is GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. As a reminder, this is a compilation that brings together the three emblematic games of the series for PS2 – GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas. All this in modern media. The problem is that the launch was very difficult, to say the least. There have been bugs, and not just a few, not to mention other changes that have raised many questions within the community. Has Rockstar already given up on the trilogy? Obviously this is not the case.
In fact, players are on the lookout and some have noticed that a new patch is being put together for these three GTAs. At least that’s what we can see on the SteamDB platform, which shows recent activity. In the menu you will find various fixes and improvements resulting from the mobile port, which we will talk about shortly afterwards. Until we have official confirmation, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt, but we won’t say no to other tweaks to make the experience more enjoyable.
Mobile versions to the rescue
If you follow news surrounding the GTA franchise, you’ve probably noticed that the compilation is available for purchase on mobile devices. To access it, you can also use your Netflix subscription on iOS and Android. This port came with a number of welcome changes. We don’t have a complete list, but the studio was able to tell us: ” It includes additional improvements, including a new classic lighting mode that restores the appearance of the sky in the original games ».
Fans have also noticed smaller changes, such as improved destruction effects and fixes for incorrect billboards, character models, backgrounds, and more. All that remained was to wait for all these new features to arrive on PC and consoles. Based on the leak, it’s coming soon and we couldn’t ask for anything better for the GTA trilogy.
