This Pokemon Legend: Arceus The video starts by showing off the emerald beautiful fields and meadows that will eventually become known as the Shinno region, before delving into some game details.
After showing some parts of the area, it explains how you’ll gather the raw materials for crafting. Craftable items include bait, healing potions, smoke bombs, and crafting a “mysterious” invention called a PokeBall. Your Pokemon team can also help you collect these materials, but most can be found by breaking rocks, picking up plants, and defeating or catching Pokemon in the wild.
After the production part, the video switches to focus on the Pokemon you can catch in the wild. There will be a lot of mobs, and weather conditions and time of day will dictate which mobs hang out nearby. Different species also have different temperaments. Some, like Bidoff, ignore you when you get close, while others, like Starly, are more nervous and will run away.
Some Pokemon, like Shinx, are aggressive and will attack. If you fail to catch an aggressive Pokemon on the first try, it will become more alert and any PokeBall you throw at it will deflect. So in order to catch a Pokemon in this state, you will have to fight it. Some aggressive Pokemon will damage you, and if you take enough damage, you’ll lose power and lose some items.
In the game, you will be part of an investigation team that is tasked with sorting and researching all the Pokemon that live in the area. Not only do you need to catch all types of Pokemon, but you also need to use certain movements or show certain behaviors to observe them. After completing the field trip, you will go to Professor Lavington to hand over your investigative report, which will update your Pokédex and improve your ranking in the group. You will also receive funding from Professor Lavington, which can be used to purchase additional materials and items to aid your research.
Because of the vast area, it would be very troublesome to keep walking through it. This is where special Pokemon appear. These creatures will help you get where you need to go. The Wyrdeer is the white fluffy version of the Stantler that will help you navigate land faster. Then there are regional versions of Braviary that will help you travel through the skies. Basculegion’s regional version of Basculegion will take you across rivers and oceans.
There is also Jubilife Village, which serves as the center of Galactic Expeditions. This is a group of people who study and live in the Emerald region. There are various regiments in the village, and this area will be the central hub for your surveying missions. After receiving a mission or quest and getting ready, you will depart from the village and explore one of the various areas of the region. After completing the investigation mission, you will return to the village to prepare another mission again. The village also has your own space and offers different services such as clothing, crafts and a trading station where you can trade Pokemon with others.
The video goes on to outline how the various quests and requests work, shows footage of fighting Pokemon, provides an overview of customization, and introduces noble Pokemon like Kleavor, the king of the forest.
Pokémon Saga: Arceus is coming to Switch on January 28.
