Fire Emblem Engagement will launch in a few weeks, and its opening movie is available to watch now.
It was announced just a few months ago that Fire Emblem Engage would end on January 20th, and many media outlets got their hands on it for the first time. Nintendo-focused Dutch YouTube channel N1-UP recently took a look at the game, and even uploaded the full opening cutscene that greets you as soon as you boot up the game (thanks GamesRadar). So if you’re not interested in seemingly quiet lighting spoilers, I’d steer clear of this one.
The movie is proper anime, as it teases some events from the main game and showcases the main cast during some dramatic battles, all set to a slightly bland theme song (whose lyrics just bite the nose too superior). A rather gloomy title screen is also showcased in the video, so overall, it’s a nice mix of bombasticism and subtlety that’s a perfect mix for any Fire Emblem game.
Prior to iGamesNews’s review of Fire Emblem Engage, Alex Donaldson was recently able to play most of the game and had some thoughts on the game’s early chapters. Some more tactically oriented fans who aren’t too keen on the series’ role-playing might not be happy with this one, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. Alex wrote: “In fact, if you like Three Houses, it’s not just a little bit the same: it seems to be becoming more and more the same.”
Nintendo also announced that the game would receive an Expansion Pass at last month’s The Game Awards, with the first wave dropping on the same day the game was released, adding everyone’s favorite leader of the Three Houses to the mix.
