It’s been almost five years since Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker hit cinemas around the world. Since then, only stories that took place before the tentative finale have officially been filmed. At least until now.
Because with Lego Star Wars: Rebuilding the Galaxy you can now experience what happened to the galaxy afterwards. Or at least how it could have continued after that – because the mini-series has an interesting twist that turns the entire franchise on its head.
Darth Jar Jar and Jedi Bob
Lego Star Wars: Rebuilding the Galaxy tells the story of young shepherd Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), who finds a powerful Jedi artifact and inadvertently turns the entire galaxy upside down.
The clumsy Gungan Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best) suddenly becomes the powerful Sith Lord Darth Jar Jar and the visibly aging Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) hears for the first time in a crowded bar that he should actually be a galactic hero. And the clone troopers? Yes, they are now the spitting image of Admiral Ackbar and suspect traps everywhere.

Lego Star Wars: In the trailer for Rebuild the Galaxy, Darth Jar Jar celebrates his series debut
Sig, who as a history fanatic knows everything that happened before the accident, is faced with the task of restoring everything to its original state. To do this, he enlists the help of the cult character Jedi Bob (Bobby Moynihan), who was previously only found in a Lego set from 2002 and has not appeared in any other official Star Wars work.
That’s why the series is scheduled after episode 9
From a IGN interview with series showrunners Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit
Lego Star Wars: Rebuilding the Galaxy includes four episodes and has been 13. September 2024 via Disney Plus available.
The next big highlight is already in the starting blocks. With Skeleton Crew, you can look forward to the next Star Wars series on December 3, 2024. There you will follow the story of a lost crew of children who are now traveling through the galaxy looking for a home. New seasons of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka as well as the finale of Andor will follow in 2025.
