The next big Marvel movie is finally showing footage, and we have to admit, it’s pretty promising. We can find out thanks to the D23 event.
At the D23 event, Marvel Studios presented an exclusive preview of their upcoming Fantastic Four film. At this event, fans were able to get their first look at the costumes the famous team will wear in this long-awaited reboot.
A first draft for the next Marvel film
Although only a few members of the cast were shown in costume, the most notable reveal concerns Johnny Storm, played by Joseph Quinn. The Human Torch’s 1960s-inspired costume design appears to be a nod to the team’s historical roots in the comics. This aesthetic choice, combined with the iconic Fantastic Four logo, was enthusiastically received by fans in attendance.
Pedro Pascal, who will play Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, was also seen. However, in a much more classic outfit. More than a real superhero costume. This appearance suggests that the characters could adopt several outfits over the course of the film. In this way, they reflect different eras or situations in the story.
A great cast
The film stars Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (the Thing). The alchemy between these actors seems to be at the heart of the project, with particular attention paid to the dynamics between the four main characters. Quinn also expressed enthusiasm at the idea of working with Moss-Bachrach, highlighting the importance of interaction between team members in capturing the essence of the Fantastic Four.
In the film’s plot, Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, and the Silver Surfer, played by Julia Garner, are expected to threaten Earth, leaving the Fantastic Four with a big challenge. The script was co-written by Josh Friedman and Cam Squires, with a finishing touch from Eric Pearson, known for his work on Black Widow. This new Marvel film is scheduled for July 25, 2025.
