A film adaptation of the horror series Five Nights at Freddy’s has been in the works for some time – and it’s getting closer and closer. Now the release date for this fall has been fixed.
The long work on the film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s finally seems to be coming to a long-awaited end, because the horror flick has now been given a release date. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have now dated the good piece for the fall of this year.
From October 27, 2023, Five Nights at Freddy’s will be shown in cinemas and on the Peacock streaming service. When the time comes, a year-long odyssey for the project will finally come to an end, after all, it originally began back in 2015 when Warner Bros. first secured the rights.
Back then, Gil Kenan was set to take over as director, but then in 2017 Blumhouse, the studio behind “M3GAN,” took over production. Harry Potter director Chris Columbus was hired the following year, but was replaced by current director Emma Tammi.
Tammi also co-wrote the script with Seth Cuddeback, the games creator, and Scott Cawthon. The story and the characters will therefore be directly inspired by the video games. The cast also includes better-known names such as Josh Hutcherson (“The Hunger Games”), Matthew Lillard (“Scream”) and Elizabeth Lail (“You”).
