The previously leaked in-game event about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Fortnite has officially started. There is also an absolute fan favorite who is coming to the island for the first time.
What was previously hinted at via a leak is now official: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are returning to the island in Fortnite and are once again playing in the popular Battle Royale mode. In the new Cowabunga event you have to challenge your arch enemy Shredder. The promotion runs from now until February 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. and also features, among other things, Leonardo’s legendary katanas and Michelangelo’s nunchucks. You can complete special missions and unlock rewards that match the theme.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to Fortnite Battle Royale to challenge their nemesis Shredder in the Cowabunga Event. The promotion runs from today until February 27, 2024 at 3 p.m. Using Leonardo’s legendary katanas and Michelangelo’s nunchucks, players can sneak through the sewers to complete Cowabunga quests to unlock themed rewards.
Above all, Turtles fans who have long wanted an appearance by fan favorite Splinter have reason to be happy. The Ninjutsu master and adoptive father of the Tutrtles can be purchased in the Fortnite Shop during the event. For the duration of the event, the previously available outfits from Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and April O’Neill will also return to the shop. All six outfits are in the style of Fortnite and LEGO.
The Cowabunga tasks are divided into six phases, each based on a specific goal of the Turtles. If you complete the tasks, you will receive Ooze and can unlock both free and premium rewards in the Cowabunga Pass. Once a certain number of tasks have been completed, you will also receive the Krang blueprint for the respective phase. Anyone who has collected all six blueprints will be rewarded with the “Krang” back accessory!
The free rewards in the Cowabunga Pass include numerous items such as the TMNT Pizza back accessory, the Kuro Kabuto Bass or the turtle airship hang glider developed by Donatello. By purchasing the Premium Reward Track, you will unlock the Shredder Outfit and other rewards such as Shredder’s Steel Claw Pickaxe, Super Shredder’s Cloak Back Bling, and the Super Shredder Outfit without having to complete your own quests.
Last but not least, the event also has an impact on gameplay in Battle Royale. There you have to know how to use Leonardo’s katanas, Raphael’s sai, Donatello’s staff or Michelangelo’s nunchucks for your own benefit. The four turtles have varying degrees of attack, air attack, sprint attack and double jump skills. You can also effortlessly glide across the island and perform tricks with your TMNT driftboards.
Disney and Epic Games will be cooperating on a large scale in Fortnite in the future.
