The alleged sequel Ghost of Tsushima 2 is once again in the rumor mill; according to this, the action sequel is actually in the works!
With Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch Productions has landed a PlayStation-exclusive hit, which has since been released for the PC as well. Due to the game’s success, there has been speculation about a sequel – and now it’s back in the rumor mill.
Video game insider Daniel “DanielRPK” Richtman now reports via Patreonthat “a Ghost of Tsushima sequel is in the works” without providing any further details about the potential action sequel. However, this has made it a little more likely that the title is actually being developed behind closed doors. After all, Richtman was mostly correct with his statements and has also built up a very strong reputation, especially with TV and film leaks.
It is not the first time that Ghost of Tsushima 2 has been rumored, although an official confirmation is still pending. Bloombergs Jason Schreier, also one of the best-informed insiders in the industry, had stressed in mid-May that such a sequel was in the works, whereas rumors about a new Sly Cooper game were not true.
Since AAA titles usually require several years of development time, a possible Ghost of Tsushima is unlikely to be released until 2025 at the earliest, or even later, even if work began immediately after the release of Ghost of Tsushima. We will keep you updated on further developments.
