The post began: "The new studio is unlocked." "We have opened a brand new game studio in Playa Vista. The team will focus on providing exclusive games and we will provide our own unique options for new IPs and new experiences . "The tweet also links to a blog post by Jade Raymond, Stadia's vice president and head of games and entertainment.
"Today, we will be opening a new Stadia gaming and entertainment studio in Playa Vista, California, which will be led by industry veteran Shannon Studstill," Raymond wrote.
"I've been a fan of Shannon for a long time and appreciate her award-winning work leading Sony's Santa Monica Studios and industry-definition franchises like God of War have won fans around the world … A visionary who, as the studio director, will lead and inspire the Playa Vista team. We are pleased to welcome her to the Stadia family. "Raymond continued.
Meanwhile, Studstill confirmed the announcement on her personal Twitter page:
Glad to build and support a new creative team @GoogleStadia!! https://t.co/MdhixOdXCu

When Cory Barlog, the creative director of God of War, responded to his post with his tweet:
I ❤️ Shannon Studstill !!!

Studstill's move away from Sony Santa Monica seemed to surprise most people, and fans of the God of War pointed out that they didn't even know she had left, let alone take up a new position at ResetEra.
However, the move came at an important time. Recent news revealed that the reason why Stadia still only has 28 games is that Google has failed to provide enough funding for developers-perhaps appointing industry veterans like Shannon Studstill may help Stadia move in the right direction.
