it’s not easy Halo Infinite multiplayer game. Since the game’s launch, its content update cadence, multiple delays in promised updates, and ongoing issues with the title mode have been criticized.
According to developer 343 Industries, even the beginning of season 2 was a bit “bumpy.”
But the developers are keen to improve what has so far been rather uneven. One way the 343 Industries creatives seem keen to win back fan sentiment is by adding classic maps – something that has been called for since the game first launched in 2021.
In an interview with Kinda Funny Xcast, Parris Lilly asked the game’s creative director, Halo veteran Joseph Stanton, if it’s possible to have multiplayer maps from older Halo games in the game (thanks TrueAchievements). After all, these maps make season 2’s suggested lengths feel easier to digest.
“I can talk about some things, but I can’t talk about other things,” Staten teased. “There are some great Halo maps. I think we all have our favorite maps. Guardian, Blood Gulch, The Pit… there are a lot of great maps, right? I think it would be great to play on those maps It’s a map, isn’t it? That sounds interesting.”
This doesn’t exactly confirm we’re getting the classic Halo map in the game, but it’s not too far off, right? There isn’t much room for interpretation there.
Season 2 debuted with two new maps — Catalyst and Breaker — that didn’t really set the world on fire. Having a classic map in the game could bring back lost players, or even bring brand new converts from the Master Chief collection and try to walk the modern side of the franchise, if they do it right. Just make sure to put Narrows and Ascension there, 343 Industries.
In other news, Halo Infinite Season 2, Lone Wolf, kicked off May 3 with three modes: Land Raider, Last Spartan, and King of the Hill.
