In a recent interview with Leo Edit, Norman Reedus appeared to be referring to death stranding and a possible sequel. When asked about his work on the original game, Reedus replied, “We’ve just started the second game.” Whoops.
Norman need not worry, though, as Hideo Kojima has publicly responded to the rumors with a simple tweet.
The tweet included several photos of what appeared to be a celebration of Reedus’ work in the “Walking Dead” series, with the caption “Go to your private room, my friend.” Paired with the adorable thumbs up and heart-shaped eyes emoji, there’s no doubting the pair clearly have a friendship like no other.

While the tweet doesn’t explicitly mention Reedus’ interview response, there’s certainly room to suggest that Kojima is doing something. In Death Stranding, the private room is where protagonist Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus) needs to rest and recover.
Additionally, Reedus’ interview with Leo Edit focused on his role as Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead before mentioning Death Stranding 2. Therefore, the combination of photos and captions is undoubtedly a careful reference to the interview.
In lighthearted Hideo Kojima fashion, this seems to be the developer and author’s way of giving his friend a slap in the face openly.
Obviously, while the announcement of Death Stranding 2 wouldn’t come as a surprise, Hideo Kojima doesn’t seem too annoyed that Reedus leaked the project prematurely.
