According to the latest rumors, guerrilla games have big plans for the hugely successful Horizon Zero Dawn, and there is even talk of an entire trilogy.
At the weekend it was hot in the rumor mill about the action adventure Horizon Zero Dawn. That a sequel is in the works is certainly not a rumor. Its development started right after the great success of the first part. A now deleted tweet from Guerilla Games gives rise to the suspicion that Horizon Zero Dawn 2 could be a PS5-exclusive title.
The tweet was about a job advertisement for a senior AI programmer, garnished with a picture that looked very much like Horizon Zero Dawn along with the hashtag # ps5. The mere fact that the tweet was deleted so quickly gives the supposition additional food. An attentive user published a screenshot of the tweet via Reddit:
< a href = "https://img.gameswelt.de/public/images/202004/ce5ca688b26ce65820e265016e7e6e10.png" data-title = "Horizon: Zero Dawn picture 1

But that's not all with the rumors. There are increasing signs that guerrilla games from Sony have received the green light for far more extensive plans after the success of the first part. So Guerilla Games apparently has a trilogy in mind and wants to roll out the story about Aloy and the bizarre mechanical engineering far more widely.
Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is also said to be far more extensive than its predecessor. We are talking about a much larger and more open game world. There is also rumored of a co-op mode, although it is not yet clear whether it is a separate mode or whether the campaign will be playable cooperatively. A co-op mode was already planned for the first part, but was kicked into the bin.
It remains to be seen whether and what is in the reports. Horizon Zero Dawn 2 has not yet been officially announced.
