News was needed to spoil the Xbox/Bethesda conference party a bit. This one is for the highly anticipated STALKER 2, which has already been pushed back once.
Luckily, 1 month ago GSC Game World Studio was able to give good news about the safety of employees and their families. But in connection with the war in Ukraine, we can understand that the life of many important actors in the studio was turned upside down. And so Stalker 2 has been delayed.
Stalker 2 will not be released this year.
During the Xbox/Bethesda conference, we were able to uncover an organizational chart that allows us to see what the future holds for us in terms of gaming at Microsoft over the next 12 months.
As you can see above, the highly anticipated Stalker 2 is now officially scheduled for release in 2023. GSC Game World has not yet commented on this and it is not yet known if we will have further explanations regarding the development and the reasons for the delay. Even if we can obviously guess a little bit.
Because in addition to the context of the war in Ukraine, it is a fairly ambitious game that inevitably requires very special attention, especially if you know the expectations that exist for the Stalker universe. For the record, the game is initially planned for the PC and Xbox series.
Of course, once again, most importantly, we sincerely hope that GSC can keep all families safe and everyone at the studio is safe and well.
