game news It’s surreal, this player got banned from Valorant while playing with the game developers…
The Vanguard anti-cheat system developed by Riot Games is unforgiving, players know that. No one will be spared, not even players launching a Valorant game directly from the studio’s premises.
Riot’s watchdog
As we know, it’s been a few years since Riot Games went from just owning League of Legends as a strong license. In 2020, the studio successfully launched into the competitive FPS space Appreciation which provides a similar formula as counterstrikeadditional characters and special abilities.
The popularity of the software is due not only to its gaming system but also to its anti-cheat system called Vanguard. As appreciated as it is criticized, Vanguard has proven particularly effective since its inception, provided you grant it near-total access to your computer.
While Vanguard does a very good job of fighting scammers for the most part, it occasionally makes mistakes. This is exactly what the streamer JimmyJam observed, an excellent Valorant player who had the opportunity to start a session at the Riot Games offices.
Banned from the game… by the developers
Vanguard is good but obviously improvable. At least that’s what JimmyJam proved, a streamer who got banned mid-game… at Riot Games.
In the middle of a session of Swift, one of Valorant’s newest game modes, JimmyJam was severely banned by Vanguard. A sequence transmitted by the Ahad streamer that did not fail to make the videographers present at the time laugh.
For his part, JimmyJam clarified that he was banned almost immediately, shortly after he was eliminated. Obviously more fear than harm. The player recovered their account about an hour after this action. Being banned from Riot HQ comes in handy when you want instant responsiveness from tech support.
