News culture JK Rowling takes over the Harry Potter series produced by HBO: the controversial novelist is back
This is one of the projects that is attracting the most attention: Harry Potter will return not in the form of films but in the form of a television series from HBO. A very large project whose development is slowly gaining momentum.
Hogwarts on TV!
It was one of the shock announcements of last year: The Harry Potter saga will be completely rebooted as a television series. For now, Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO will be crafting a brand new project that aims to to adapt JK Rowling’s books much more faithfully, with each season telling the story of each literary volume.
At the moment we don’t know much about the construction siteIt will land on Max, the HBO platform, and Rowling will executive produce.
However, Deadline has just revealed some important new details: The series is produced by Brontë Film and TV., a production company headed by Neil Blair. And for your information: Blair is nothing more and nothing less than JK Rowling’s agent!
The media also confirmed that a selection of authors had already been called to meetings in Los Angeles, and that too Those selected will then be brought on to discuss their ideas directly in the UK… and possibly in front of JK Rowling.
Many screenwriters are already on site
The other important information to remember is that the plot of the Harry Potter series is developed slowly. So deadline says that Four writers worked on ideas and what this TV series could look like:
- Martha Hillier, Screenwriter and producer known for her work on The Last Kingdom and Versailles;
- Kathleen JordanCreator and showrunner of “Teenage Bounty Hunters” for Netflix and is currently creating another series, “The Decameron,” also for Netflix;
- Tom Moran English screenwriter behind the series The Devil’s Hour on Prime Video;
- Michael LesslieCo-author of the current film “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Snake and the Songbird”.
Finally, Deadline says that Warner Bros. Might well Maintain multiple ideas from multiple screenwriters, therefore with the ability to hire not just one person but several
