Through his social networks, and on the eve of the New York ComicCon, the director and boss of DC Studios has shown the first image of Superman with his dog Krypto. and at the moment it does not have its characteristic cape; But the fact that his fur is so messy is no coincidence: he is inspired by Ozu, James Gunn’s dog. As Gunn tells it, the adoption of an Ozu in his most rebellious stage more or less coincided with the writing of the script for Superman and, among his antics, it was a matter of time before the filmmaker’s lightbulb ended up going on. And although Ozu himself will not play Krypto in the film, putting both photos together one could say that they almost belong to the same litter.

“Krypto comes to the big screen this summer in Superman. Krypto is inspired by our dog Ozu, whom we adopted shortly after I started writing Superman. Ozu, who lived with 60 other dogs and never met humans, was problematic To put it mildly. As soon as he entered our house he turned it upside down, destroyed our shoes, our furniture and even ate my laptop. It took a long time before he let us touch it.
