Gaming News LoL: At the beginning of worlds, the CEO of G2 Esports Ocelote makes a tough decision after being fired
G2 Esports controversy, continuation and possible end. Following last weekend’s controversy and his sacking, CEO Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez took a drastic step to defuse tensions.
Ocelote makes a radical decision
It was the big controversy last weekend. Based on a video circulating on social media, the CEO of esports structure G2, Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez found himself in the middle of a storm. With good reason: this seemingly harmless video features the famous founder of the structure that celebrates the qualification of G2 for the Worlds – the biggest eSports tournament in League of Legends – alongside a controversial personality: Andrew Tate, nickname – influencer, who for blamed for his hatred and misogynist remarks. Since then, G2 fans expressed their anger and disappointment at Ocelote, who was laid off for eight weeks.
After a particularly clumsy reasoning, Ocelote made a drastic decision on the eve of the big LoL tournament. Effective today, he is officially stepping down as CEO. An understandable yet unfortunate choice while Ocelote was an iconic figure in the structure.
A well-considered decision?
Ocelote leaving his post remains incredible given the importance of the person concerned to G2. If the decision is understandable once again, it is still spectacular. Despite this, in the state it is difficult to say whether this separation is complete or partial.
