Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is Marvel’s next big movie to hit theaters, and expectations are high. What to expect from such an MCU film?
Director James Gunn is back directing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 after being briefly fired from Disney in 2018 over controversial tweets. Expectations are pretty high, especially considering Marvel’s success with this team of space superheroes. The film’s leads, namely Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, are all back to reprise their respective roles. We even find Pom Klementieff, who will also return as Mantis and Karen Gillan as Nebula. In short, beautiful people on the program with always a 5 star cast.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and some surprises
This is nothing new and we know that Marvel is used to re-enacting scenes for their films. And Guardians of the Galaxy 3 won’t evade the rule as James Gunn himself has just confirmed in a post Instagram that the next film will have the right to two scenes of this kind. In this context we can expect great things, especially since Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will conclude Gunn’s trilogy. The film follows the Broken Arms team on a mission to once again save the universe from an existential threat.
It is a capital film to complete the story arc of several characters. Gunn also underscored the importance of this feature film to complete several stories, including that of Rocket, which would feature prominently in this third film. The man who is now at the helm of the DCU even stated that the most important thing for him is the story of Rocket, then the story of the others a second time.
Rocket is the unsung protagonist of Guardians of the Galaxy and has always been my main focus, and that’s really satisfying. The reason I came back and decided to do this film is because I really wanted to wrap things up. Rocket’s story had to be told – and it stuck after Volume 2.
Guardians of the Galaxy: when is the MCU movie coming out?
LGuardians of the Galaxy 3 is scheduled for May 3, 2023 and it will be James Gunn’s last film for Marvel, which is now working hand-in-hand with Warner to shape the future of DC Comics in cinemas. It was a great story between the director and the Disney Company (despite a moment of suspense in 2018) and we hope the film will emulate a beautiful climax for the director’s departure. Like a last goodbye.
