Have a new South Park The game is under development, and the game will be developed in 3D by an in-house studio created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, as detailed in a new report.
A Bloomberg report revealed the $900 million deal the duo made with ViacomCBS (allegedly valued at approximately $900 million), which will allow the duo to continue performing until season 30 and produce 14 films for the series .
In addition to the extended series and movies, Parker and Stone’s in-house studio also has an unnamed game. Bloomberg quoted a separate note from Matt Stone in an email in the newsletter (paywall) confirming that the game is real and in development.
It seems that unlike the first two high-profile games launched by the company, this game will not be developed in cooperation with Ubisoft (although the publisher of the game has not yet revealed it).
Both “South Park Rod of Truth” (launched in 2014) and “South Park: Broken but Complete” (launched in 2017) were developed in collaboration with French publishers, although Obsidian developed the latter.
Earlier there were rumors that this game will be a 3D game-starting from the more traditional South Park-style 2D in previous games-
“We do whatever we want, and they are very supportive of it,” Matt Stone said, speaking of his creative control over the series with his writing partner Trey Parker. “In this way, we are the luckiest people in television.”
Parker and Stone funded the game themselves, so this time they will be closer to development than previous games.
The two previously stated that they wanted to make an open-world RPG (thanks to PCGamesN), so we would love to know what the settings of this new game are.
