The future looks bright for the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes, and Remedy Entertainment itself guarantees it. They are entitled to similar treatment to Alan Wake 2 for good reason.
Remakes/remasters have been a trend for a long time and we expect even more in the coming years. In the list we find the redesigns of two titles: Max Payne 1 and 2. If you have never experienced these TPS and its famous mechanics Bullet time, it will be the perfect time to start. But hey, we don’t really know where the work is on this project. At least that was the case before the intervention of Remedy, which made an encouraging statement to say the least.
The remake of Max Payne 1 & 2 will have a significant budget
In a new financial report, the studio revealed that it was able to allocate a large budget to develop the remake of Max Payne 1 & 2. The reason we know this is because it’s described as being “similar to Alan Wake 2”, the latest from the company. Suffice to say, it promises two great redesigns. Obviously, the point is not to compare these franchises. But it’s a relief to see that there are no half measures. Those games whose reputation is no longer in question will be retyped as intended.
The report also states that the developers did this “significant progress over the year”. We don’t know anything more for now, even if it is said that it will be a remake of Max Payne 1 & 2 “Progress in the next development phases in the first half of 2024”. In short, this means we won’t have a release date or trailer until tomorrow, but things are progressing well. The main thing is the result, and we will wait as long as it takes. Although it might take a long time given everything the studio has to offer.
Yes, after Alan Wake 2, Remedy is not only working on Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. Last year, a press release aimed at investors revealed details of four new titles in the pipeline. These include Control 2, which is in the concept phase, but also Condor and Codename Vanguard. It’s all work, although we’ve already been told that the remake benefited from excellent organization and a clear vision of the style and scope of the game. We’ll see what the future brings. Hold back, but there is no reason to worry at this time.
