Did you expect the first Watch Dogs to be six years old? But it's true. Ubisoft's open world adventure was released in May 2014. Despite all these years, Watch Dogs is not necessarily ugly from today's perspective, but it looks a bit dusty. However, the title hides a lot of optical potential, for example if you help him with some graphic mods
That's exactly what the Youtuber Digital Dreams did – and the result is extremely impressive. With the help of various modifications, he turns Watch Dogs into a feast for the eyes that would probably even go through as a next-gen game.
How does the effect come about?
Digital Dreams achieves the result with its own reshader for more natural lighting and complements the whole thing with other effects, such as an additional ray tracing option, which is still in a beta version.
If you want to try out for yourself how beautiful Watch Dogs can look on your PC today, the Reshade mod can be downloaded quite easily via Nexusmods. Digital Dreams also provides a short installation guide.
Watch Dogs and its graphics
If you are wondering in the comments about the frequent exclamation: "better than at E3", you have probably missed the controversy about the release of Watch Dogs. The action game looked a lot less spectacular in 2014 than when it was first presented at E3.

Watch Dogs – Graphics comparison: Trailer from 2012 against final PC graphics
Here some fans felt rocked and spoke of a massive downgrade. This was not so much because the release version didn't look good, but because the game on the E3 presentation looked exceptionally good for the time. With the new mods for Watch Dogs, however, the game easily reaches the E3 level and sometimes even exceeds it.
