Royal monsters are powerful enemies, such as Tigrex, and they usually live in the area you go to later in the story. If your cards are played well, you can even get a powerful monster egg from the battle, but you need to prepare in advance.

What is Monster Hunter Story 2 Royal Monster
As mentioned earlier, royal monsters are an early opportunity to obtain advanced materials and monsters. They are always located near the Catavan booth in their area, and you can challenge them at any time-provided you are ready. Navirou interrupted and said that when you approach him, his beard will sting. You will also know that it is a royal monster, because unlike ordinary monsters, they will not chase you.
The first time you spot a royal monster, it may destroy your team in one blow. The best point to challenge one of them is that when you have better equipment and more powerful Monsties, your time in a particular area is about to end.
Will royal monsters be reborn in Monster Hunter Story 2
Yes, when you leave the area and return or visit the Catavan booth and adjust the time of day, the royal monster will respawn. You can obtain materials by breeding royal monsters and repeat the chance to obtain their eggs.
Will the royal monsters retreat in Monster Hunter Story 2
This is a bit complicated. In theory, they do retreat and have the same retreat conditions as their normal counterparts. Some players have reported some problems with the retreat strategy, especially the use of traps. It is not clear if this is a bug or the game does not allow you to capture royal monsters for some reason.
However, you can still use the paintball strategy to force a retreat. Throw a paintball at the monster and defeat it within three rounds of using the item to increase its chances of retreat. This strategy will be easier after you fight the royal monster once and display its health bar.

Brute Tiger
