It's hard to believe, but the release of the original Need for Speed: Most Wanted was actually 15 years ago. While the newer parts of the series are rather bad to mediocre among gamers and critics and the brand recently returned to the former developer Criterion, the older games remain timeless classics for many fans.
The first Most Wanted is still considered in the community today one of the best parts of the series and is still very popular. And just because that is the case, there are people like the modder and Youtuber KryZeePlays who wants to make the game socially acceptable with its Redux mod for today. And that works great.
The best of 15 years of Need for Speed mods
Complete package with lots of new content: Modder KryZeePlays promises that the second update of the Redux version is a collection of the best mods of the now 15 year old game. For example, the mod contains over 110 vehicles with revised models, a massive expansion to the main game from 2005.
The star of the mod is without a doubt the graphics: Textures and shadows come from the Xbox360 version, but are a real eye-catcher thanks to 4K support. The same applies to the sky and the reflections. The HUD has also been completely revised and now looks much more contemporary.
If you add the chic new rain effects and the freely selectable day-night selection, you will undoubtedly have the best version of the street racer in front of you.
KryZeePlays shows what this looks like in practice in the gameplay trailer:
The mod is free for all owners of the game and can be easily downloaded, for example, via Mediafire. By the way is this mod is not the only one, with which you can relive the racing classics of the early 2000s. Recently a mod for Need for Speed Underground was released, which equips the game with ray tracing.
