News culture Naruto completely dominates Dragon Ball: there’s no doubt about it!
Dragon Ball is undoubtedly the most important and influential manga and therefore the most influential anime in Japanese culture. However, one of his heirs has won his place in the hearts of Japanimation and 10th Art fans. Konoha’s most famous ninja dominates Son Goku and the late Akira Toriyama’s Z Warriors in 2024.
Naruto puts Dragon Ball to shame
Dragon Ball is a special case in the world of manga and Japanese animation. Akira Toriyama’s creation has long since transcended its status as a symbolic work and has become part of humanity’s intangible heritage.
Nevertheless, today the student seems to surpass the master. As a matter of fact, One of the members of the “Big 3”, namely Naruto – Bleach – One Piece, took first place among the world’s most popular children’s cartoons. This study, conducted by TheToyZone, is based on a database of 6,638 cartoons and anime broadcast on TV channels and SVOD services (Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channels, CBeebies, Netflix, etc.). After this list was created, the analysts determined its “weight” and, therefore, its importance in the search queries sent by Internet users to the Google search engine.
TheToyZone was able to map the most popular children’s cartoons in each country and find out which cartoon is number 1 worldwide. Contrary to all expectations, Dragon Ball acts as a challenger here. As a matter of fact, Naruto clearly dominates this ranking, taking first place in 83 countries, while second place goes to CoComelon. The rest of the TOP 5 is occupied by Peppa Pig (6 countries), Tom & Jerry (5 countries) and finally Dragon Ball (4 countries). France is the picture of this study. Naruto is actually number 1 in France. The Konoha ninja is eternal.
Naruto’s future
The “Naruto” fever doesn’t let up. The son of the world’s most famous ninja succeeded his father, and his adventures continue to fascinate readers and viewers around the world. With 21 volumes, the Boruto manga written by duo Ukyō Kodachi / Masashi Kishimoto and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto was pre-published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between 2016 and 2023. Unsurprisingly, this official sequel benefited from a 293-episode animated adaptation produced by Studio Pierrot. But the Naruto universe has not yet revealed all of its secrets. A new manga titled Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is being pre-published, still in Weekly Shonen Jump. No animated adaptation has been made official yet.
