It was recently confirmed, somewhat surprisingly, that the racing game Need for Speed: Unbound will receive fresh content for a second year. The first additional content update has now been announced with Volume 6.
Volume 6 is the first new content in Year 2 of Need for Speed: Unbound. This is the first of four planned live service drops on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms for the racer.
Volume 6 brings you a special PvP mode, which is now accessible directly from the multiplayer garage. In this you can prove yourself in 25 new PvP races, which are available both in the eponymous mode and in free roam. Three weekly changing playlists should have something to offer for every type of racing driver.
There’s also Audi’s comeback with the debut of the RS 6 Avant (2020), the fully customizable R8 Coupe (2019) and the S5 Sportback (2017). All cars receive unique body kits, custom paintwork and individual handling and audio.
A new ranking system is also being introduced in which you can earn your status in single player and multiplayer modes and at the same time complete a revised Speed Pass. In addition to the free version, this is also available in an optional premium version with access to special items. There are 45 unlockable stages in total, unlocking two of the aforementioned Audis and several body kits. In the premium model you get the Audi RS 6 Avant (2020) directly as well as access to its body kits and three rare custom versions. Rounding out this offering is the playable character skin Rydell, cosmetic Infinity items, new graphics and sound effects options and more.
