It’s the week of cancellations for Netflix, which won’t give this hot new series a second chance. And that seriously annoys many subscribers.
It’s slowly becoming a bad habit, especially on Netflix, but it’s the harsh reality of the world of video streaming – and Hollywood, for that matter. There is little room for something new and/or original, and if it doesn’t work right from the start, platforms will abandon the project “in the minute.” Just last week, actor Kurtwood Smith himself announced the cancellation of That 90’s Show without any comment from the service. The massacre continues, chaos has reigned since Netflix canceled another original series.
Netflix is already saying goodbye to this series with a Jurassic Park star
Netflix subscribers may still be disappointed after this new decision, and some already are. Through Variety and via a deleted Instagram post from one of the actresses, we learn that the series KAOS worn by Jeff Golblum (The fly, Jurassic Park) is already nipped in the bud by the platform. And it’s more of a surprise because it was one of the new features for August 2024, meaning that the company with the red N is abandoning it not even two months after its launch.
According to the American magazine, if Netflix throws in the towel and doesn’t give the product a chance, it’s the audience’s fault. “The series was in Netflix’s top 10 for four weeks upon release, but failed to reach a significant audience during that time.”
KAOS with Jeff Goldblum already canceled, subscribers upset
The KAOS series is a reinterpretation of Greek mythology by the screenwriter of The End of the F***ing World, with a treatment that for many is therefore very different and original. “Zeus has long enjoyed his status as king of the gods…until one day when he wakes up he discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. From then on, a dangerous ndollarsis begins, followed by paranoia: Zeus is convinced that the end is near and sees warning signs everywhere.. And obviously Netflix made a very big mistake.
A Change.org petition has already launched to try to save KAOS and have the right to at least a second season. But especially when we look at the reactions to X, what we see above all is the disappointment and even anger of Netflix subscribers. « It was creative and interesting. One of the few series I watched to the end. What the hell! »; « It was so good and no one talks about it! »; « It’s a ridiculous decision »; « Netflix planned to kill KAOS immediately. Hence the lack of meaningful marketing. You probably decided to cancel months ago »; « Get your head out of your ass »; « KAOS was completely ruined by Netflix. It’s a series that could have had more space Prime Video, Apple TV+ or HBO (Max) » Can we read?
