What is the WitcherCon?
Digital event for Witcher news: The WitcherCon is a two-day digital event that is jointly organized by the streaming provider Netflix and the development studio CD Projekt Red. Fans can follow two different livestreams via YouTube and Twitch, which are supposed to provide some “surprises” and “exclusive insights”.
There is already one for WitcherCon official websitethat you can take a look at. A complete event plan should follow in the foreseeable future, we will of course keep you up to date as soon as there is new information.
Incidentally, the organizers published a first trailer for WitcherCon at the end of July. He reveals the exciting information that fans can expect an appearance by Netflix actors Henry Cavill (Geralt von Riva), Freya Allan (Ciri), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich:

When does the WitcherCon take place?
Date and Time: The WitcherCon 2021 extends over two days in July. The exact start dates of the planned live streams are as follows:
- July 9, 2021 at 7 p.m. Europe time
- July 10, 2021 and 3 a.m. Europe time

What exactly can I expect at WitcherCon?
The program: According to the official website and press release, various “interactive panels” with those responsible behind the Witcher universe are planned. Viewers should not only get news about the future of the brand, but also “exclusive glimpses behind the scenes” and “never before seen revelations”.
The current information is not particularly specific. But news about the following projects have already been teased:
- The Witcher auf Netflix – We expect a first real trailer and the start date for the second season. The fact that Henry Cavill, Lauren S. Hissrich and Co. appear, also speaks for it.
- Nightmare of the Wolf on Netflix (anime film about Geralt’s mentor Vesemir) – we are expecting the first material and possibly also a release date

What about the Netflix prequel? A spin-off for the Witcher series on Netflix is also currently in development: Blood Origin is not explicitly mentioned at least at the moment and could actually only play a small role at the WitcherCon in July: At the moment, the second season of the main series and Nightmare of are likely the wolf are in focus at Netflix.
Any news about The Witcher 4? CD Projekt Red is already planning its next Witcher game after Wild Hunt, but it will not be a direct sequel. However, the project is not likely to have progressed far enough to present new information about it now.
Especially considering that Cyberpunk 2077 is currently a priority at the studio. So fans shouldn’t have high hopes.

No announcement of a new Witcher game planned: Incidentally, the organizers of the official Witcher-Con warn on the official website that no new Witcher game should be announced. This is undoubtedly to prevent game fans from leaving the two-day live streams too disappointed if their expectations are not met.
