Nintendo said it will not release a new Switch model in 2020.
On Nintendo's most recent earnings call, the company announced 52.48 million lifetime sales switchThere are also rumors that it is developing another Switch mode.
Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has firmly denied that it will launch a new Switch model this year. According to Gamesindustry, Furukawa told investors: "Please note that we have no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model in 2020."
Furukawa also said that Nintendo will continue to work hard to communicate different styles with each of the available modes (Base and Lite) of the Switch.
"With regard to the Nintendo Switch, we believe it is important to continue to convey the appeal of the two Nintendo Switch systems and expand the installed base. We believe that we have not fully communicated the special features and appeal of the Nintendo Switch Lite, so we will continue to address this issue."
Recently, a Taiwanese blogger said that it would soon begin production of the upgraded Switch model, which would be enough for its release in the middle and late 2020.
Of course, this is not the first time that the rumors of the so-called Switch Pro have been reported. The upgraded model will initially be released with Switch Lite in 2019, but it is obviously not successful.
