Nintendo has somewhat surprisingly expanded the range of games on Switch Online and is now making another real classic from the age of the Game Boy Advance available on the current console.
Almost out of nowhere, Nintendo is making a real classic gem available on Switch Online this week. Subscribers can get the Game Boy Advance title F-Zero: Maximum Velocity there.
Since the beginning of the 2000s, the futuristic F-Zero racing series has somewhat faded into the background, but the brand used to be a big number. Most recently, the SNES title F-Zero 99 became available as an online multiplayer battle royale title for Switch Online last year.
This Friday, March 29, 2024, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity will be available on Nintendo’s online service. At the time, it was the third main part of the franchise, which was released in 2001 as a launch title for the Game Boy Advance. Here too you get the high-speed racing gameplay typical of the series, with the title taking place thematically 25 years after the previous F-Zero games.
On Switch Online, the original F-Zero was previously made available as part of the SNES Collection in 2019 and the F-Zero X, released in 1998, was made available as part of the expansion pack including online multiplayer in 2022.
The list of Game Boy Advance titles available via Switch Online then reads as follows:
