The supposedly imminent release of the PS5 Pro is now also noticeable in No Man’s Sky, as there are already references to the new platform there.
It is an open secret that Sony is working on a more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro. Recently, a well-known insider, Tom Henderson, emphasized that the plan still calls for the release to take place in November 2024 – a presentation at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 in September is conceivable.
Sony is encouraging developers to optimize their current and upcoming titles for the new PS5 Pro. Hello Games is apparently heeding this call, as the recently released Worlds Part 1 update, which has led to the highest number of players in No Man’s Sky in a long time, apparently already contains clear references to the PS5 Pro and the planned improvements for the game in the game files.
A game developer and modder named ThatBomberBoi used social media to data mine the relevant sections of the files. There are now graphics presets for “Trinity” – and according to many insider reports, this is Sony’s internal code name for the PlayStation 5 Pro.
So what exactly can you expect from the more powerful console in relation to No Man’s Sky? The factor for the lowest dynamic resolution is therefore increased from 0.6 to 0.8. At the same time, when using the PS5 Pro, Hello Games is improving the base resolution from 1300p on the PlayStation 5 to 1730p on the PlayStation 5 Pro. As a result, players can expect a clearer and more detailed visual gaming experience.
Apart from these two options, some smaller settings have also been increased from “High” to “Ultra”, so there may be other visual optimizations. Nevertheless, Reddit Some players are already disappointed with the optimizations made on the PS5 Pro; they had hoped for more. Above all, the jump to 1730p is not seen as very significant. However, it remained unclear how the whole thing would affect the frame rate and whether additional improvements could be expected on this front.
