Action platformers abound, but few quite like Orbital Bullet. The Rogue-lite stands out with its own twist. And literally! Because the world keeps spinning in circles as you shoot your way through enemies.
You’re probably familiar with a lot of action platformers and at least as many rogue-lites, but Orbital Bullet combines these two elements and puts a twist on them. Because instead of running from right to left as usual, the world rotates 360 degrees. The areas arranged in a ring are generated procedurally, so you will never experience two identical runs. Blast your way through hordes of monsters and use a variety of weapons with impressive power.
Not only your character, but also projectiles move in a 360 degree arc around the terrain. With this unique gunplay, you can even take out enemies in the background long before they would face you directly. Develop your own style with almost endless possible combinations that the Rogue-lite gives you at your fingertips. Four different classes with their own strengths and weaknesses, dynamic skill trees and over 38 different weapons with their own upgrades ensure a constantly new gaming experience. Do you prefer to be a sniper and take aim at enemies from afar, or charge straight into the fray with a hyper shotgun? It’s entirely up to you.
So even when it’s not going particularly well, Orbital Bullet will constantly invoke that familiar genre-famous feeling of wanting to play “one last round”. And another one. And another one. Because the more you modify character and weapons, the more successful you will be.
Whether you’re already a pro or playing your first rogue-lite, it’s always fair. Because after every death you have the opportunity to unlock permanent upgrades and abilities to be better prepared for your next attack against the monsters. Orbital Bullet features a progression system that leaves no one behind. Experts, on the other hand, are rewarded with a win streak system that makes each run progressively harder until the win streak ends.
Did you get a taste for it? Then quickly over to Steam. Orbital Bullet has enjoyed very positive feedback from players since the beginning of its Early Access phase last year. From March 21st, the action-packed title will finally be available there as a full release.
