Palworld became an absolute success overnight – but so far only on PC and Xbox. PlayStation players are hoping for an implementation for their console, and the chances don’t seem to be that bad.
The title Palworld, which was initially often referred to as “Pokémon with weapons”, hit like a bomb at the start of early access or game preview and captivated an incredible number of players. A real hype developed in no time at all about the survival game about the Pals, which sometimes seem suspiciously modeled on Pokémons. Although this hype has died down somewhat, Palworld continues to be successful on the PC and Xbox platforms. But what about other implementations, for example for the PS5?
Via Bloomberg A detailed interview with the makers of PocketPair has now been published. Palworld creator Takuro Mizobe confirms in this interview that PocketPair definitely wants to bring the successful title to other platforms. The interest in such further implementations is therefore officially documented, although Mizobe did not initially make an official announcement.
It initially remained unclear whether this explicitly meant the PlayStation 5 or possibly the Switch or mobile platforms. In the past, Sony had already confirmed that it wanted to do everything it could to bring Palworld to the PS5. Overall, the chances of this happening may have been worse.
Regardless of the plans for further implementation, PocketPair is also open to a larger partnership or even a takeover. Although they are very satisfied with being able to operate completely independently at the moment, according to Mizobe Palworld has simply “become too big for a studio of our size” within a very short time to be able to keep it running in the long term. Accordingly, PocketPair could become a real heavyweight in the gaming industry in the medium term. Microsoft was rumored to have a certain interest.
