friend world Released early this morning and sold out within eight hours a million times.
The game went live on Steam today at 3 a.m. EST, and players can jump in immediately. As of press time, the number of people online at the same time is 344,662, with the highest number today (so far) reaching 370,128. With so many people playing the Early Access game online, it’s no wonder the servers are getting a little smokey.
According to game developer Pocketpair, due to the large number of players online at the same time, Server becomes unstable, causing some players to experience connection issues. Hopefully these issues will be resolved, but it’s something to keep in mind if more people log in after the workday is over.
If you’re unfamiliar with Palworld, the game lets you live with mysterious creatures called Pals. You can capture over 100 unique companions, each equipped with a set of skills to enhance your adventures. There are powerful boss Pals in the world that can be encountered and captured.
In the game, you can coexist peacefully with your companions, use them to fight, work on farms or factories, and even sell or eat them (poor little animals). The environment is harsh and food is scarce. Vicious poachers also roam the countryside, and other dangers lurk around every corner. To survive, you must be careful and make tough choices – even if it means eating your friends.
To travel around the world, you can use some of your companions as mounts to travel across land, sea, and sky. If you want to build, form a building team of good friends. Your little animal friends can also make fires, generate electricity and work in the mines. Some are even good at farming, with some companions being the best at planting while others are better at watering or harvesting. Friends will continue to work for you – as long as you keep feeding them (or until they die).
There’s a breeding program, a sanctuary where you can catch rare companions, and more ways to get these little critters.
Palworld has multiplayer features that allow you to adventure or battle with other players, and you can also trade with friends. Up to 4 players can play together in online co-op mode, while dedicated servers can host up to 32 players.
PvP will be implemented in a future update, and the maximum number of players on the same server will be increased in a future update.
