Plex also bundles Disney+, Netflix, and Apple TV+ content to Fire TV, but the handy feature has been banned by Amazon. With a trick you can unlock them again.
Apps like Plex and JustWatch bundle the content from Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+ and let you search for films and series across providers. Such a function is particularly useful when the content found is only a click away. Amazon recently blocked these links on Plex and similar offers – because users should probably use the Fire TV interface more often and watch the provider’s advertising there.
Now, however, the Fire TV is once again able to take full advantage of Plex – with a little trick. If you have activated developer status, you can simply download the Plex version of Android TV via the Downloader app – and it doesn’t contain a deep link block. All you have to do is first delete the native version of the app that you have been using from your Fire TV Stick – otherwise the installation will not work.
Important: The deep linking fix for Plex only works with enabled developer options and the Downloader app.
