Swing a lightsaber once as a Jedi. A dream that is at least partially fulfilled for numerous Star Wars fans thanks to modern technology and video games. But let's face it: has a Star of War title ever made us feel like a mighty Sith or awesome Jedi?
Games like The Force Unleashed, Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast or Vader Immortal may have scratched it, but never fully accomplished the feat. Be it because ours lightsaber felt more like a colorful neon stick or our weapon could never be controlled as precisely as we would like it to be.
This is how the lightsaber fight has to look!
A remedy for this should be Star Wars mods for the VR game Blade and Sorcery create. The virtual reality title has been available on Steam in Early Access since the end of 2018 and is extremely popular among fans: Blade and Sorcery can be awarded the "extremely positive" seal of approval from over 7,000 user reviews.

But what makes Blade and Sorcery so special? The gameplay of the VR game is characterized above all by using medieval weapons to put enemy waves in their place. Thereby immense value is placed on realistic physics and a combat system that can be controlled weightily and satisfactorily.
There are now various mods that replace the medieval weapons with lightsabers from the War of the Stars universe and allow Star Wars fans to live out their wildest dreams: Reddit recently caused a particularly spectacular scene that caused a stir a Sith armed with a red laser sword against several attacking Jedi knights defends itself:

After only five days, the Reddit Post was viewed over 1.2 million times and provided with upvotes over 45,000 times. Star Wars fans and the Reddit community are excited and would likely be one "Real" war of the stars game with this physics and wish this combat system.
Of course, our adversaries should not bleed like in Blade and Sorcery when our lightsaber blade hits them. After all, the heat of the Jedi weapon ensures that any wounds are burned out immediately. A detail that one is happy to overlook due to the possibility of being able to relieve one's enemies by their limbs. After all, this is a feature that fans at Jedi: Fallen Order missed painfully.
Blade and Sorcery is currently available as an early access version on Steam for 20 euros. Star Wars mods are not too scarce for the VR title, but The Outer Rim is probably one of the most popular that you can find on Nexusmods.
What VR games are there for Star Wars fans?
But what official VR alternatives do Star Wars fans have? On the one hand, there would of course be the Oculus-exclusive Vader Immortal, in which you take on the role of an involuntary student of Darth Vader. Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, on the other hand, can be played on more powerful smartphones, while rumors suggest that a Star Wars VR game is in development in the High Republic era.
And then there would be the rhythm game Beat Saber, which in itself has nothing to do with Star Wars, but we can use it to sabotage music blocks with something like lightsabers. Fans have already shown how to do it "right" in spectacular videos on YouTube.
