Sony has revealed the release date of the PS5 DualSense Edge controller. However, the price is as high as that of an Xbox Series S, including the controller.
- The DualSense Edge controller resembles a Scuf gamepad.
- It will appear in January 2023 and will cost 240 dollars.
- Pre-orders start on October 25, 2022.
Sony introduced the DualSense Edge wireless controller for the PS5 some time ago. Now the publisher reveals that this Scuf-like gamepad will be released on the 26 January 2023
The price is almost as high as the price of an Xbox Series S, i.e. a new console that comes with a controller. The device is often available for 250 to 260 dollars, sometimes it costs even less. But fans shouldn’t forget that a price like this is not uncommon for a Scuf controller with a similar feature set.

Pre-orders will start shortly
You can pre-order from Tuesday, October 25th. This only works through the Sony platform PlayStation Direct, through which you can also buy the new PS5 gray camouflage side shells. As of February 23, 2023, other retailers outside of PlayStation Direct will also be offering the Dualsense Edge controller.
More options for shooter fans
You can adjust the new controller much more according to your preferences. For example, you can adjust the sensitivity of the analog sticks, change the stick caps (standard, high round cap, low round cap) or even the stick modules. New sticks will be available separately in the future for 25 dollars.
You can also adjust the movement of the triggers as you wish, if you prefer shorter distances to the shot in shooters or a different feeling when accelerating or braking in racing games.

The back buttons can also be exchanged and you can reassign or specifically disable button functions.
Want to use different button layouts for different PlayStation games? No problem, because you can create multiple profiles and switch between them using the Fn key.
Sony also supplies a braided USB C cable with the controller and a protective bag. You can even charge the pad while it’s in your pocket.
