Apparently Sony Santa Monica is in the final stages of development Ares Ragnarok. Everyone can feel it’s close, just don’t know how close. Well, according to the studio’s creative director Cory Barlog, the game will be released this year.
Over the past few months, we’ve heard reports that Ragnarok has been pushed back to 2023, while counter-reports say it hasn’t, and will actually launch this November. However, there is certainly evidence of an imminent release, such as the recent South Korean Commission rating.
Barlog recently returned to Twitter, unsurprisingly bombarded with questions about when we’ll see the next game, whether it’s already been delayed, and some good ol’ unhinged internet abuse.
One impatient Twitter follower asked: “Why don’t you keep telling us Ragnarok has been delayed so we can move on and seriously plan for the rest of the year, it’s getting more and more frustrating. “
“Because it’s not,” Balog responds.
Considering how many questions Barlog has received so far about Ragnarok and its release date, the creative director finally came out and made a small announcement.
“If it’s up to me, I’ll share all the information when I know about it,” he said. wrote on twitter
“But it’s not up to me. So please be patient. I promise to share as soon as possible.”
However, that still doesn’t leave us much to chew on. One of the many rumors surrounding Ragnarok is that the game’s release date will be announced today or tomorrow, but Barlog also shot down that.
At this point, if the game is indeed on track for this year’s release, we’ll hear an official announcement soon, even if it probably won’t Exactly
