Resident Evil 9 could be the next title in Capcom’s series. There have been rumors about the release date in the past, but the company has since postponed the release internally.
As insider Dusk Golem writes on X (formerly Twitter), the game’s release could not take place until late 2025 or even early 2026 at the earliest. He had previously stated that it was difficult to get reliable information at the moment.
In the comments, fans are not happy about this news. One even stresses that Capcom would not make the mistake of releasing the game in the same year as GTA 6.
According to the insider, Capcom is not working on any other games other than the information on Resident Evil 9. Neither the remake of Resident Evil 1 nor Resident Evil 5 are actively in development.
Keep in mind that these are just rumors and it remains to be seen whether they turn out to be true. The same goes for the change of the main character, where Leon Kennedy could be replaced.
